Every year friends and supporters gather to hear a personal success story at the Dearborn Academy Luncheon. Many attendees have come to every luncheon since it was started in 1999.

The Dearborn Academy Annual Luncheon

Since 1999, the November luncheon has been an annual event celebrating the success of Dearborn Academy students. Approximately 150 friends, donors, families, educators, local leaders, and former students and faculty return each year for this cherished community event.

Luncheon speakers and hosts have included students, parents, Kim Khazie, WHDH Channel 7 news anchor, and nationally known experts such as Dr. Eileen Costello, author and pediatrician, Dr. Edward Hallowell, one of the leading experts on attention disorders, and Delos Smith, senior economist for the Security Executive Council.

Funds raised at the luncheon support the purchase of computers, library collections, sports equipment, new curriculum, assistive technology, professional development, and more. If you are interested in attending the luncheon or wish to sponsor this important community event, please email Lynne Jacoby. You can also sign up for our newsletter here.

Our most recent luncheon,Dearborn Academy's 12th Annual Luncheon, was held on Thursday, November 10th and raised over $30,000.  You can read more about the lunchone on our blog.

Arts and Crafts Sales

Twice a year, Dearborn Academy's young artists offer a few pieces of their best work for sale to the general public. From unique hand-crafted jewelry to sculpture, these pieces are the result of hard work, dedication and finely honed skills. For many of these students, it's their first experience making and selling a serious piece of work, and in this way, the Arts and Crafts Sale provides a special entrée into the world's of work, arts and crafts.

When you purchase a piece from our collection, the student artist receives a share of the proceeds, while the remainder helps support Dearborn's arts and crafts studios. Our wood and metal shops, jewelry studio, and digital imaging and art studio are critical components of Dearborn Academy's unique curriculum.

In addition to our winter sale, student pieces are exhibited several times each year at school and local galleries. If you would like to receive emails about future exhibitions or sales, please sign up here. Thank you!
